Kashf al-Niqap 'an ramz al-muqawamah al-thaqafiyyah : sira bain al-muslimin wa al-nubala fi risalatai darmugandul wa gatulushu /
In the courses of its history, the Javanese literature can be identified as belonging to two cultural domains; court literature (sastra kraton) and religious literature (sastra pesantren). This classification is based both on the place where the literature works were written and composed (the scriptoria), and also on their substance. The sastra kraton was written by the royal poet, within the court domain, and therefore presented the worldview of the ruling elites (priyayi). In this court literature work, the political affairs and thought within the royal court constituted a dominant subject. They functioned as an ideology to justify the political power of the royal elites. In addition, the court literature employed the Javanese language and script (aksara Jawa) as their medium. (end).
