The prominent function of language is as a communication instrument for all human being. In certain situation, oral communication done by workshop participants of participatory action research [PAR] in STAIN Jember on May, 26-28, 2005. That is interesting to be examined. This was a descriptive qualitative study. The resuld showed that there were eight forms of code switching emerging in oral communication in the workshop. The most frequent from was code swithing from Indonesian to Javanese language. It happened because of the speakers' socuial solidarity for the listeners, respecting, social class, topic choice, cultural distance, regional dialect and intimacy.het.
