This research deals with the concept of mother in the qur'anic perspective. With the thematic, deductive-inductive, and analitic-discriptive approach, the resulth show that the using of the term al umm or al walidah in al Qur'an indicates that these terms mean the core or origin of everything, a persons who performs the reproduction funtion and has significant role in educating the children in their first groeth and development.het.
