Librarianship is a growing profesionalism today, especially when this field is adopting technology into its operational activities. Its development is keeping up with the development of technology itself. As such, librarians are encouraged to increase their skills in providing information servicers to the users. Unbalanced with the demand, however, their image as librarians and their sailaries are still low. Many believe that all of these unfairnesses are because this profession is dominated by women. To elaborate more on whether or not such an assumpton is true, the following article will track the history of librarianship from past to present time. Dopink.
